Rinpoche visited the Budismo Gelug Peru group in Lima, Peru from Sept 12-19 and gave teachings on the Four Noble Truths and a Green Tara empowerment to a group of approximately 25 students. During the teachings 13 students took refuge vows. Rinpoche also discussed his book “Meditation Saved My Life” in a public talk at the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC). Budismo Gelug Peru is looking for a permanent location for ongoing teachings, meditation and community center and are excited to receive Rinpoche’s guidance and look forward to his next visit. Rinpoche also met with Karma Kagyu ani Lama Karma Chötso who is overseeing the efforts to build a reconciliation stupa near the city of Lamas, in the jungles of Peru. Rinpoche was happy to hear about the progress of the Rime Jangchub Chöten Stupa Project, which may be completed in the next 6-8 months depending on local conditions.
